Accounts Payable

  • Distribute invoices to Department Heads for approval
  • Match all invoices to the VISA bill
  • Enter invoices in Quickbooks
  • Print checks from Quickbooks, when necessary
  • Preparation of letters/memos and other forms of communication
  • Monthly resident allowances and Social Security refund checks:
  • Determine amount needed in cash and for PNA accounts
  • Get cash from bank when necessary
  • Prepare envelopes with resident names and insert designated amount of cash in each
  • Attach refund checks to envelopes of residents receiving monthly refunds
  • Resident Telephone bills:
  • Enter monthly billing amounts
  • Make and record all payments
  • Send monthly statements to residents or their responsible parties
  • Prepare weekly deposits of all telephone payments
  • Maintain Resident Personal Needs Accounts (PNA):
    • Make & record all deposits
    • Record and pay all bills (hairdresser, apparel, etc.)
    • Send quarterly statements
    • Post interest quarterly
    • Charge inactive account fees as necessary
    • Send correspondence to responsible party upon resident’s death
    • Reconcile Resident Personal Needs Account checking account
  • Maintain Donor Records
    • Enter donations into donor software
    • Enter memberships into donor software
    • Issue receipts to members
    • Issue donation receipts to donors
    • Notify people of donations made in their honor or in memory of their loved one
    • Make copies of all checks and cash for each deposit for Foundation and Association
    • Scan all copies from the purchases and sales Foundation deposits
  • Determine resident monthly transportation billing
  • Assist with special projects when necessary
  • Collect required data for Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) purposes, as directed

Holland Christian Home is seeking to fill the position of Accounts Payable at our wonderful long-term care facility located in North Haledon, NJ.

Qualifications would include: General office experience, preferably with a background in finance. Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, and other designated organization-approved electronic software. Excellent communication skills with residents, staff, families and the public.
