The Assistant Director of Annual Giving administers and executes Annual Giving programs including direct mail, telemarketing, and online giving strategies. This position enhances communications and marketing efforts around Pace’s annual giving efforts with the ultimate goal of acquiring and retaining an ever-increasing pool of regular supporters from Pace University’s various constituencies and maximizing philanthropic support from Pace’s alumni community. The Assistant Director of Annual Giving manages key programs such as copywriting, crowdfunding, and special campaigns. This critical work includes direct marketing activities to acquire, retain, re-activate, and upgrade annual donors with an emphasis on growing Pace’s alumni participation, donor retention rate, and dollars raised. Pace University has more than 140,000 living alumni worldwide with the largest concentration located in the tri-state area. The Development and Alumni Relations Office supports 6 schools with campuses located in New York City and Westchester County.

Position Duties
  • Works closely with colleagues to conceive and execute Annual Giving plans.
  • Responsible for copywriting for Annual Giving appeals, including direct mail, online, and phone.
  • Oversees the two (2) major Annual Giving crowdfunding initiatives (Giving Tuesday and 1906-Minute Challenge), working closely with vendors and internal and external partners, promoting the initiative to various Pace audiences.
  • Facilitates internal processes including information technology requests, accounts payable processing, and facilities requests.
  • Manages timelines and deadlines for key projects under the Director’s areas of responsibility.
  • Coordinates contact management in the department’s database including data entry, creating reports, and follow-up tasks.
  • Develop strategies for new donor acquisition and growth.
  • Secure new, renewed, or increased funding from individuals through online giving, direct mail campaigns, phonathon, text to give, and special projects/initiatives.
  • Corresponds directly with donors, faculty, and other University stakeholders.
  • Coordinates administrative functions such as scheduling, answering phones, maintaining filing system, reporting, and drafting correspondence.
  • Executes the various special campaign, including athletics and other special segmented populations.
  • Ensures timely and meaningful stewardship and outreach to members of our giving societies.
  • Performs other such duties as assigned from time to time.

Position Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or its equivalent required.
  • At least three years of related experience.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Able to set priorities, function in a fast-paced work environment, and communicate across all levels of the Pace community is essential.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to work cooperatively with other staff.
  • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills, outstanding interpersonal skills, sound judgment, strong initiative, creativity, organizational ability, and attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel on occasion.

Work Hours
9am-5pm, Monday-Friday. Occasional participation in evening and weekend events is also expected.
