Assistant Supply Planner

Overview: The Supply Planning team is responsible for maximizing Macy’s Private Brands’ network capacity, inventory availability, increase overall operating efficiencies and reduce lead times. The team is accountable for translating demand plans provided by Merch Planning & Allocation teams into accurate category supply plans to better allocate and reserve capacity within their established vendors.

Essential Functions:

  • Support the Private Brand Replenishment process and its transition from the RWI model, inclusive of Direct and Indirect vendors:
    • Participate in the monthly Demand review process with merchants and MP&A to ensure projections align to strategy and financials
    • Create Master Contracts accurately and timely
    • Maintain detailed, accurate records in the Replenishment Assortment & Projection Tracker
    • Support communication of updated Supply projections monthly to Sourcing, OSO and vendors to ensure production capacity supports the inventory needs
    • Proficiently use reporting tools such as Tableau and the MC Query to gather, organize and manipulate data to support analytical and recapping needs
    • Build Replenishment T&A calendars
    • Support the VMI initiative with modified calendars and communication flow with vendors
  • Track KPI’s and adherence; communicate to necessary internal teams
  • Proficient background knowledge of Supply Planning analytics (e.g., balancing inventory positions, WOS, product turn, demand signal intelligence to provide most accurate and least volatile Supply Plans)

Qualifications:

  • Education/Experience: Undergraduate degree with emphasis on supply chain, planning or related field
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Physical Demands: This position involves regular hearing, talking, and sitting in an office environment
  • Work Hours: Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and store/company needs
  • Other Skills:
    • Highly organized and detailed individual that is willing and able to dive into the details
    • Strong analytical, problem solving and quantitative methods/skills to understand, predict and enhance the supply planning process
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
    • Highly collaborative individual that can work seamlessly alongside numerous teams and levels
    • Excellent written and communication skills
