Job Description:

The Commercial Real Estate (CRE) Data Architecture Team, under the direction of the CRE Chief Data Officer (CDO), drives the data architecture design, data modeling, development and defining the data (and metadata) needed to provide consistent data with quality as a foundation for integrated reporting, analytics and data-driven execution across all CB business processes.

Our work is a blend of strategy, technology, data architecture design and modelling with a key focus on unlocking data to increase adoption by delivering with quality and right controls in place.

The candidate will collaborate across teams on the design, development, operating model and implementation on top of Hadoop and AWS cloud-based data platforms.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A strong passion for business intelligence and analytics with the ability to drive capability development using advanced data analytics techniques and statistical methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to distill information and results into simple concepts and actionable insights for a variety of audiences.
  • Demonstrated success developing and delivering analytics solutions in a dynamic cross-functional environment along with controlled delivery of specific data content through multiple channels including dashboards, API’s, Kafka.
  • Excellent knowledge of Domain Driven Design principals for creating conceptual and logical models to describe a particular domain of data and use these models to inform the physical design of data-related projects; consult enterprise and industry models.
  • Advanced Technical skills to Profile, wrangle, and prepare data from diverse sources to support analytical efforts; CB, CCB, BB, and enterprise data sources.
  • Experience with enforcing standard data modelling discipline, processes and metrics to support integrity of key CB data, and management oversight driving data quality programs.
  • The ability to Identify areas for efficiency across data domains, such as the elimination of duplicate data or feeds, identify systems of record and authoritative sources, create data quality rules, create data flow diagrams, and apply firm-wide standards and controls.
  • A Self-motivated individual, a team player with strong work ethic and a passion for technology, data, and financial services.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Synthesize business needs and identify optimal data solutions to address them while keeping in line with the overall CB foundational, master and reference data strategy.
  • Building an in-depth understanding of the business and available data assets.
  • Ingest, cleanse, analyze and present data with actionable insights.
  • Interact with business and functional stakeholders throughout the organization on analytics Initiatives and build data solutions as Products.
  • Work in Agile environment while building Data Requirements Documentation, Design and Implementation of data models built with right tools, controls, quality, operational processes, and procedures to ensure the consistency and quality of CRE data needs.
  • Develop and implement data domain (DDD based) modeling, data engineering, and data resiliency design standards for Hadoop and AWS data platforms for internal and third party data sources.
  • Ensure that data management rigor is in place so that users are confident in the quality of the data.
  • Collaborate with and influences solution architects, engineers & delivery teams to adopt enterprise data architecture specifications in CRE Data Models.
  • Define data (metadata), identify systems of record and authoritative sources, create data quality rules, create data flow diagrams, and apply firm-wide standards.


Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of data analysis and architecture experience, preferably in financial services or commercial banking.
  • Ability to understand business problems/processes and design solutions/methodologies that are rooted in data.
  • Hands on experience with
    • Programming languages like Python, R, Java
    • Expert level in SQL.
    • Analytical tools like Alteryx, Trifacta
    • Distributed file systems like Hadoop
    • Public cloud AWS
    • Visualization tools/programming languages like Tableau, Qlick, D3
  • Experience working in AGILE projects is strongly preferred
  • Ability to design and execute repeatable and scalable data solutions (extraction / mining / modeling / visualization)
  • Effectively communicate insights/recommendations (verbal and written)
  • Exposure and experience with designing and building machine learning algorithms
  • Team player with a demonstrated strong work ethic. Demonstrates a high level of professionalism in behavior and performance and an ability to work well and productively with cross-functional teams.
  • Have an affinity for analytics and fascination with Big Data potential
