Position Summary
:

The major responsibility of this position will be to assist in the development of services for the Digital Media Management system. The developer will work on applications that support scheduling, logging, searching, retrieval and distribution of high and low resolution video. The person will also work on systems that integrate with Adobe editing platform as well as other 3rd party systems, such as Evertz automation, encoding, and transcoding systems. This person will work closely with, and at the direction of the Development Manager on all projects that manipulate digital video storage. He/She will also work closely with the other development team members.


Major Responsibility:

  • This full time person will take on the responsibility of maintaining and upgrading the current suite of applications as well as working new projects.
  • Advise management of strategic technology.
  • Work with other developers to design and develop new functionality for the DMM system.
  • Facilitate the creation of and review current and detailed project plans for all projects.
  • Provide management status reports and performance metrics for all projects.
  • Proactively identify and avoid recurring issues and minimize the impact of problems related to the above area.


Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • 8+ years IT industry experience, 1+ years’ experience in broadcast IT (good to have).
  • Broad understanding of all IT areas and technologies, specifically those involved with video technology.
  • 4+ years of programming experience.
  • Development: Java, Microsoft.NET, HTML5, CSS, Javascript, Angular Experience with Elastic search engine.
  • Design: Object-Oriented Methodologies, MVC patterns Database: Microsoft SQL Server Development Environment: IIS, Tomcat/Apache, MS Studio, Netbeans Broadcast video production
  • Digital Asset Management
  • Digital Audio/Video Encoding – High and Low Resolution, specifically MPEG2, MPEG4, Windows Media, Real Networks, and QuickTime.
  • Working knowledge on video players.
  • Technical Project Management


Education:

  • B.B.A. or B.S. degree desirable (preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems or Technology related)
