The Hartford Financial Services Group is seeking an energetic and passionate Director of Claims Data Delivery. As a member of Claims Data Office, this role will lead multiple agile teams in the design, development and enhancement of Claims and Enterprise data assets using modern Cloud technologies.
We seek candidates with solid data engineering skills as well as strong analytical, communication, leadership and business skills. This position will lead a team of 25+ data professionals, manage a complex portfolio of data initiatives and will be a strategic thought partner to key to Claims, business, IT, Data Science, Analytics and Business Intelligence stakeholders. In addition to P&C Claims data assets, this role is accountable for the delivery of key enterprise assets in Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), Law and Strategic Sourcing.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop a team of data professionals to deliver and maintain reusable and sustainable Claims and Enterprise data assets. Roles within the team include Data Engineers, Business Data Analysts, Data Modelers, QA, Data Architects and Delivery Leads / Managers.
  • Oversee multiple agile teams aligned to the Claims Data Warehouse and key enterprise data assets
  • Oversee the production of critical daily ELT process for 60+ Claims and enterprise data assets
  • Drive a multiyear road to modernize the Claims and Enterprise ecosystems leveraging Cloud technologies
  • Analyze emerging industry business and technology trends and translating implications for new capabilities to enhance Claims and Enterprise data capabilities
  • Enable a high performing team that has a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and is focused on business outcomes
  • Manage the financials for both run and invest across the Claims and Enterprise portfolio of initiatives and agile product teams
Skills/Experience:
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in the delivery of large-scale data warehouses
  • Relevant leadership experience leading a team with both employee and vendor resources
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders including Senior Leaders
  • Relevant experience in modern data technologies, preferable, AWS Cloud, Snowflake, Python, Talent
  • Relevant experience leading Agile teams focused on the delivery of data assets
  • Ability to design, implement and oversee processes focused on the delivery of data engineering assets
  • Ability to think strategically and execute effectively while managing multiple priorities concurrently to meet business objectives
  • A proven track record of coaching and developing talent in a data organization
  • Property & Casualty insurance industry experience preferred
  • AWS Cloud Practitioner or equivalent certification preferred
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$130,320 – $195,480
