Electro-Mechanical Technician and PLC Controls Technician

We are currently seeking a PLC and Controls Specialist in Central/Northern New Jersey to work closely onsite with our clients in Newark, new Jersey. 2nd, & 3rd Shift for immediate hire!


The hired positions will be required to perform all tasks related to the maintenance, and support of a control system, not limited to PLC Troubleshooting, Sensors and Devices Troubleshooting, and Electrical Maintenance.

Essential Functions

  • Technical troubleshooting of control systems, not limited to PLC, HMI, motor control centers, instrumentation, and networking of industrial control systems
  • Teamwork to complete time sensitive tasks not limited to Motor Replacement, Alignment and Wiring, sensor and device replacement
  • General Preventative Maintenance on Motor Controlled Systems

  • Must have experience using power tools, hand tools, and digital multimeter.
  • Must have the ability to read and understand electrical schematics.


  • Must be able to read and understand control panel drawings
  • Must be able to troubleshoot general electrical circuits
  • Must understand 3 phase motor wiring
  • Must have understanding of NFPA 70-E and OSHA Electrical Safety Procedures
  • Must understand 120/480 VAC power and 24 VDC power
  • Assemble, test, and maintain circuitry or electronic control panels according to engineering drawings, technical manuals, and knowledge of electronics
  • Must know how to use a digital multi-meter
  • Must be able to work on ladders and above machinery
  • Must be able to operate tools safely
  • Must be able to read, write and communicate in English effectively
  • Understanding of UL508A control panel wiring preferred
  • Understanding of PLC and HMI programming is preferred, but not required
  • Understanding of Industrial Networking is preferred, but not required

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and move items over 75 pounds. This position may also require delivery of customer control panels, therefore, the ability to drive and a valid driver’s license is required.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. We are filling several positions, across the full work day, 7 days a week. the average number of hours worked will be 40. Overtime may be required during system outages. Hours outside of normal working hours will be required. Proper notice will be given when possible.


This position will be working in Newark, New jersey at the customer’s sites.

Required Education and Experience

  • Two-year technical degree in electrical engineering, technology or related field experience.
  • Experience with multimeters
  • Demonstrated ability to operate shop equipment, including jig saw, grinder and hand drill

Valid/clean driver’s license

Pay: $56,000.00 – $88,000.00 per year
