Job Purpose: The role of the JAMF/VDI Architect is to develop strategy and solution to improve the availability, scalability, latency and efficiency of virtual applications and services. The position will require extensive technical expertise with the Apple JAMF tool and the virtualization areas of the, VMware Cloud on AWS, On-Prem vSphere, AWS Workspaces, Azure Virtual Desktop. An essential part of this role is the close collaboration with the EUC Engineering and Operations team, Security, Risk Management organizations and other infrastructure disciplines. This role would be suited to an individual who has both deep Apple device management and virtualization knowledge as well as experience working within a large and complex global organization. The candidate should be someone who thrives with compressed timelines and pressure, someone dynamic who is a real problem solver and understands that customer requirements are a critical factor in the design and implementation of technology transformation.

Responsibilities: As a Mac OS Architect, the successful applicant will be a specialist MacOS /VDI Architect and will be responsible for working with high reliability, availability and performance at scale for our customers. Develops strategy for MAC and Virtual that aligns to the Security Strategy, meets our customer requirements, Participates in IT projects and be the technical lead for EUC MIS specific projects. Analyze Business and user requirements, drive solutions development for MAC and Virtual environments. Interact with business leaders, senior architect’s product managers, solution architects and customers to discuss and collaborate on strategies for improving features, operations and to design the future product. Ensure strategic designs incorporate security and compliance standards and client requirements.

The successful candidate will have 8-10 years in IT with the following areas of knowledge:

  • Expert in JAMF and JAMF Cloud
  • Expert in MAC OS solution design
  • Experience in VMWare and Cloud VDI Solutions
  • Experience in VMWare Horizon Cloud, Horizon suite, AppVolume and DEM
  • Experience in Microsoft AVD and DaaS solutions
  • Experience in VMWare ESXi and vCenter
  • Experience in AW and Azure cloud
  • Experience in Application virtualization and containers
  • Experience with DELL, HPE server hardware
  • Experience with user profile management
  • MacOs solution design experience
  • Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP), or ACP certified or equivalent
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and communication skills.
  • Experience configuration, administration, and support of VMWare Horizon, VMWare DEM (Dynamic Environment Manager), VMware App Volumes, VMware vSphere, VMWare UAG (Unified Access Gateway), VMC on AWS
  • Working knowledge of Azure Active Directory and Advanced Group Policy Management
  • Experience with monitoring solutions: e.g. ELK, Splunk, SUMO, Nagios, Prometheu
  • Familiarity with security issues in the cloud such as intrusion, penetration, and vulnerability scanning
  • Experience with Change, Incident, and Problem Management processes
  • Experience providing Level 4 on-call support for escalated high priority incidents
  • Proficient in a common scripting language: PowerShell, Bash, Python, Go, Ruby, etc.
  • Experience supporting and administering Windows and Mac operating systems
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be comfortable leading engineering efforts and explaining new concepts in familiar terms
  • Be highly self-motivated, self-directed, and able to work independently and as part of a team
  • This job requires the candidate to comply with travel restrictions and/or work from a facility that requires full vaccination prior to entry
  • BS in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent industry experience
