About the Executive Vice President Role

We’re looking for a talented executive vice president who will be responsible for complete oversight of property operations for an assigned geographical area. This position is strategic in nature and is responsible for the development and implementation of comprehensive programs, initiatives, and strategies that promote the achievement of optimum operational, financial, and business performance.

Responsibilities and Objectives

  • Responsible for maximizing the operational and financial potential of the assigned division and portfolios
  • Oversees the staffing of key executives and participates in national Initiatives
  • Participates in setting long and short-term objectives for the company.
  • Leads a large group of key executives in strong portfolio performance
  • Leads the management team for a large portfolio of properties within property operation
  • Responsible for achieving goals set by the company executive team
  • Responsible for leading a group of associates in a positive manner with the implementation and integration of company objectives
  • Interviews, hires, trains, and manages associates in regions
  • Participates in company provided training
  • Complies with all company polices and practices, applicable health and safety rules and regulations, as well as applicable local, state, and federal laws
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • College degree and/or CPM certification is required for this position. Graduate degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in management and the multi-family real estate industry is required
  • Real estate license as required by state or local law

Skills and Requirements

  • Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills
  • Understanding of property management software systems
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to others
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to conduct presentations or speak in public to large groups of people
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to read and comprehend financial statements, such as budgets, etc.
  • Comprehension of federal fair housing laws and any applicable local housing provisions
  • Ability to make quick and effective decisions
  • Must have strong leadership ability including effective decision-making and ability to multitask
  • Ability to negotiate a contract
  • Ability to effectively manage a team
  • Ability to set and meet goals and deadlines
  • Ability to maintain flexibility and creativity in a variety of situations
  • Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquires or complaints and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to travel on all forms of commercial transportation
  • Required to pass the Avenue5 Fair Housing, Diversity and Inclusion Training within 30 days of employment

Scheduling

  • Required to maintain a regular schedule which may require working overtime, weekends and non-traditional holidays
  • Ability to travel including overnight.

Environment

  • Exposure to environment typically found in an office building.
