Human Resources Coordinator Job Description*
The HR Coordinator will provide professional and technical knowledge in employee recruitment, selection, hiring, onboarding, and general HR coordination. This position will ensure excellent customer service to stakeholders. The selected candidate will play a key role in the organization’s success by supporting our recruiting and onboarding efforts to provide a positive experience for job candidates, search committees, and new employees while also being an integral part of PRAs HR team. This position will also cross-train with our Finance team members to establish knowledge of payroll and HR processes and provide appropriate backup to those functions. This position reports to our Human Resources Manager.

The Human Resources Coordinator at PRA will*

General HR Coordination*

  • Serves as the initial line of contact (person/phone/email) for applicants, employees, and managers for various general HR inquiries. Maintains overall knowledge of all HR programs, policies, and procedures to respond promptly and accurately to HR questions and concerns
  • Provide administrative support to the daily operations of the HR department.
  • Maintain and update employee records
  • Assists with maintaining the job description library, conducting routine I-9 audits, and compiling data for EEO reporting
  • Monitor and update employee training, licensure, and certifications
  • Participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems
  • Ensure compliance with the federal, state, and local laws
  • Support the implementation of open enrollment for the schools’ benefits program, including interfacing with employees and answering questions during onboarding and program renewals
  • Assists in employee recognition initiatives and ongoing maintenance

Technical Recruitment Support*

  • Create and circulate position checklists before postings
  • Prepares job requisitions, including uploading postings to the Applicant Tracking System
  • Send postings to appropriate recruiting sites (LinkedIn, indeed, simply hired, etc.).
  • Centralize recruiting activities and coordinate interviews with stakeholders.
  • Conduct job analysis to determine candidates’ knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position
  • Communicate with the HR Manager regarding candidate’s status, reference check requests, background check initiation, offer acceptance, regret letters/emails, and dispositioning of candidates.
  • Support the preparation and sending of offer letters
  • Upload new employee’s documents to the HRIS system
  • Keep PRAs Recruitment Team and hiring supervisors informed on the status of job postings and other related recruitment process steps.
  • Ensure a timely and personal response to applicants’ inquiries and questions

Onboarding Coordination

  • Contribute to the coordination of applicable training programs to enhance manager/employee knowledge, such as new hire orientation, onboarding, leave management, etc.
  • Welcome new employees to PRA and handle other initial communications, including responding to new employees’ inquiries or connecting them with the appropriate stakeholders
  • Facilitate I-9 E-Verify procedures
  • Coordinate new hire background checks and fingerprinting
  • Serve as a lead for interviewing, hiring, evaluating, and onboarding substitute teachers

System Support (Time/Attendance, Evaluations, PD, HRIS)

  • Verify time and attendance in the HRIS system
  • Monitor employee attendance reports, including leave reasons and balances
  • Work closely with Human Resources and Finance on all related time and attendance issues
  • Support employee evaluation and professional development programs, including training, procedure development, and software management
  • Other duties as assigned


  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • At least two years of experience in an office setting providing administrative or Human Resources support.
  • Exceptional customer service, communication, teamwork skills, and sound judgment and problem-solving skills with a high level of professionalism and discretion.
  • Outstanding organization skills.
  • Demonstrated experience providing high levels of customer support.
  • Demonstrable competence in multitasking.
  • Proven success in providing high levels of support for a team.

Preferred: *

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Previous experience providing recruiting and onboarding support within an academic setting.
  • Direct Human Resources experience, background, or education.
  • Experience working with an applicant tracking system.

Physical Requirements: *
Primarily sedentary work at a computer in an office; however, some duties are performed throughout the school and indoor and outdoor event locations with minimal supervision and adverse weather conditions. The position requires lifting to 40 pounds, standing for long periods, walking long distances, and the physical ability to set up tents, tables, and various event equipment. This employee will occasionally need to utilize their vehicle to attend meetings, run errands, participate in off-site events, and transport equipment and supplies.

  • This position reports to the Human Resources Manager

Working Conditions*
Work is regularly performed inside and outside with occasional exposure to extreme temperatures. Work is performed in all weather conditions and includes moderate and loud noise exposure. This highly public position provides contact with students, staff, Administrators, Prospect Ridge Academy Board of Directors, and parents. Occasionally work may consist of ten (10) plus hour days with weekend work.

Pay: $41,600.00 – $52,000.00 per year
