Position Summary: The Junior Recruiter will collaborate with the Recruiting Manager to proactively identify top talent. Junior Recruiter should be able to attract candidates using various sources such as social media networks, applicant tracking systems, job boards, job fairs, and internal referrals. The Junior Recruiter will be responsible for assisting the Recruiting Department in vetting, recruiting, and onboarding the hiring process for Vallarta Supermarkets.

General Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Partner with Recruiting Manager to determine staffing needs.
  • Update website and applicant tracking system with job openings.
  • Reviewing applicants resumes and applications.
  • Coordinate needed signage or advertising for staffing needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Vetting resumes for qualifications.
  • Conducting pre-screening of potential candidates.
  • Setting up interviews for job openings.
  • Coordinate interviews with candidates and hiring managers.
  • Updating Recruiting Manager on best picks for the opening.
  • Sending onboarding links to candidates who have a job offer.
  • Onboarding new candidates, making sure all tasks are completed by the candidate.
  • Preparing employee files, ensuring team member numbers, and required documents are filed correctly in the folder and ATS.
  • Provides support to de department and organization as needed.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bilingual Spanish (fluent: read, write, and speak).
  • Ability to effectively work independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Strong sense of urgency and ability to deliver ahead of deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle high volume workload and calls.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Office.
  • Type minimum 45 WPM.

Required Education and Experience:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of recruiting experience
  • Solid ability to conduct different types of interviews.
  • Familiarity with HR databases (Applicant Tracking System or Candidate Management Systems)

Physical Demands:
  • Will be required to spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers.
  • May also have to do some light lifting of supplies and materials from time to time.
  • Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to team members and to convey detailed spoken instructions to other team members accurately, clearly, or quickly.
  • Manage several requests and situations at one time or simultaneously (multitask).

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:


Monday to Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm
