Kitchen Porter/Cleaner

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintains all storage areas, so they are clean, organized according to company/local government standards
  • Follows all procedures and meets food hygiene regulations
  • Participates in all deep cleaning of the BOH and FOH operations as needed
  • Performs general cleaning duties, such as sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming, tidying up stations, emptying bins, checking and cleaning bathrooms
  • Dishwashing and Dish Machine/Sink Area Maintenance and Cleanliness
  • Assist in maintaining Kitchen space by sweeping and mopping, as well as washing worktables, walls and refrigerators
  • Clean Oven Hoods and Filters
  • Maintain Cleanliness of all large Kitchen Equipment
  • Empty Garbage Cans throughout Shift
  • Minimum two years’ porter experience in a high-volume cafe environment

Skills and qualifications:

  • Accreditation with Department of Health for Food Protection Certificate is preferable
  • Strong attention to detail and time management
  • Passion for quality, safety and sanitation
  • Excellent communication and listening skills, can read, write, and speak English
  • Friendly attitude and team player who will contribute to the culture and standards
  • Urgent, proactive attitude
  • Ability to maintain a standing position for extended periods of time (up to 6 hours at a time).
  • Ability to move, lift and handle equipment, supplies and other objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to position self to move items weighing up to 50 pounds from floor to shelves and cabinets above and below counter height
  • Ability to work in high-pressure environments

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.50 – $17.50 per hour
