Mail Order & Fulfillment Assistant Supervisor

This position is responsible for assisting with the daily supervision and processing of Mail and Telephone Order Data Entry, Donation Processing, Metropolitan Opera Guild subscription and premium inquiries, Revenue Processing and Subscription Processing. The ability to work and think clearly under pressure is required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Essential job function (85 %)
  • Perform all staff job functions when required, i.e. order entry, subscription processing.
  • Assist with the coordination, distribution and processing of all incoming Mail and Telephone Subscription Orders and Single Sale mail orders including Data Entry and payment posting.
  • Work directly with the Subscriptions and Special Services team to facilitate sorting and seating functions.
  • Work with processing subscription refunds and transfers.
  • Assist with supervising Data Entry, List Management and Revenue Processing staff for productivity and entry accuracy.
  • Generate, update and distribute department reports to include backlog reporting, productivity reporting and any other reporting when requested by management.
  • Assist with the initiation of customer contact to include correspondence that is relevant to order processing problems or non-payment issues.
  • Work with the Supervisor to verify distribution and processing of MOA donations and Guild membership fees.
  • Work independently with occasional direction and instructions.
  • Convey company policy in a professional manner to the customer as well as the staff.
  • Act as a role model for practicing company policies and procedures professionally.
  • Assist staff with problem solving skills and professionally handle Supervisor issues when necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities (15 %)
  • Participate in continual cross training and monitoring programs for advanced skill development.
  • Responsible for identifying training issues and reporting them in a professional manner to the supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Prior supervisory experience preferred or 3 years of related experience preferred.
  • College courses preferred.
  • Computer literate.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal a must.

Physical Demands:

  • The Metropolitan Opera is a performance venue that requires employees working in the building to be fully vaccinated. Due to the nature of this role, you must be fully vaccinated and receive a COVID-19 booster shot, if you are eligible, at the time your employment is scheduled to start.
