The Demand Planning Manager is responsible for all forecasting activities associated with customers and products. The Demand Planner creates and maintains forecast models for customers, incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, Retailer Replenishment Analysts, and other sources (i.e.: Nielsen or other syndicated consumer data).
The Demand Planner is the integration point between Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain and Finance. Basic forecast modeling is the responsibility of this position. This position leads the dialogue each month regarding customers and products with counterparts in Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain.

Who you are:

  • 2-3+ years of experience in CPG industry, 4+ years in planning and sales analytics
  • Demonstrated proficiency in demand forecasting methods and modeling
  • Experience working with NetSuite Demand Planning module is a must
  • Strong Excel skills including the use of pivots and advanced lookup formulas
  • Strong analytical, organizational, decision making, and presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are also essential to effectively interact with all teams, areas, and levels of business affecting the forecast process.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop demand forecasts at multiple levels of aggregation for flow, promotional, and innovation products by utilizing ERP SKU data for multiple time horizons.
  • Review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
  • Coordinate cross-functional research activities to reconcile significant variances and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions.
  • Interact with Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain to understand demand forecast drivers.
  • Provide input to the Supply Chain organization in developing inventory strategies on existing items, new products, and product phase-outs.
  • Closely coordinate and communicate customer action plans with supply planning.
  • Facilitate a collaborative and consensus approach by working with Sales, Marketing, and Supply Chain to obtain and ensure that current and accurate information is used for demand forecasts:
  • Prepare relevant material to facilitate discussion
  • Lead demand planning/customer meetings
  • Achieve consensus between Sales, Marketing & Supply Chain
  • Enhance, use, and maintain the NetSuite Demand Planning software as the primary forecasting system tool.
  • Enter and modify data and ensure the correctness of product hierarchy
  • Monitor trends in forecast error
  • Identify relevant market-related data and competitive intelligence
  • Prepare and maintain statistical forecast models:
  • Gather, analyze, and validate data
  • Apply error analysis techniques to improve forecasting
  • Aggregate and review internal and external sales forecasts and demand drivers:
  • Present, solicit and assess feedback on the various forecasts from sales and finance
  • Recommend adjustments for operational forecasts
  • Review with Sales the promotional and innovation demand plans for pipe orders
  • Manage forecasts, allocations, opportunities, and ordering timelines for samples inventory
  • Prepare and maintain relevant reports pertaining to demand planning and forecasting process including:
  • Daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly & annual sell-through reports for key retailers and direct to consumer channels
  • Sell-through performance trends at SKU, category, and channel level
  • Customer replenishment performance metrics
