NOTE: The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has issued new requirements for health care and congregant care facilities to decrease the risk of COVID-19 outbreaks. Based on the CDPH public health mandate, all candidates for positions at Edgewood Center must provide proof of vaccination. Position Description
Assists with overseeing the operational aspects of the intensive services programs to include supervision of all Facility Managers, leadership role in training of staff, oversight of staff scheduling, assisting to ensure that community care licensing standards are followed and that children’s rights are protected and to provide a leadership role as it relates to the implementation of trauma informed systems.

Essential Functions
  • Supervises all campus facility managers and relief counselors.
  • In partnership with program leadership, responsible for ensuring that children’s rights are protected and that CCL standards are being followed for the Acute Intensive Services clients
  • Demonstrate a range of crisis prevention and crisis intervention approaches and protocols, providing leadership, consultation, and training to staff and teams
  • Attends weekly high risk meeting
  • Attends the weekly residential leadership meeting.

  • Maintains sensitivity to the cultural diversity of employees and clients.
  • Leadership of training as it relates to the training of residential counselors, relief counselors, upnight counselors, and program managers. This may include, but is not limited to researching training topics, maintaining required training certifications, conducting training of staff, partnering with training department on schedule development. As a trainer, will be responsible for ensuring that all training of staff is well documented to include but not limited to sign in sheets, summary of curriculum and course evaluations as required. Will provide all training documentation to the training department, as required, immediately following the training
  • Responsible for making updates to the on call manual
  • Will conduct staff debriefs on request
  • Participates as a member of the safety committee
  • Partners with the facilities department, safety committee and program managers regarding the safety of the physical plan and implementation of drills as it relates to intensive services clients
  • Will attend forty hours of training annually which can be met through a combination of on site, off site or online courses.
  • Will maintain all notes related to the supervision and training/coaching of direct reports and will provide them to human resources upon request.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree preferred in the areas of social sciences, business or public administration.
  • A minimum of two years of demonstrated effectiveness overseeing and managing a behavioral health program.
  • Previous experiences in the management of Residential programs preferred: to include supervision of staff and having responsibility for developing an implementing programming.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary diverse setting and ability to work collaboratively with partner agencies, counties, school districts, families and youth.
