Full-Time Paralegal

Role Description:

CQC is actively recruiting for a dedicated paralegal to support the Legal Department. This position works closely with internal and external counsel while supporting and contributing to long-term CQC legal initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Draft, edit, and proofread a wide variety of legal documentation utilizing appropriate legal terminology and formatting;
  • Provide data entry support and perform basic administrative office functions such as photocopying and filing as needed;
  • Assist with document collection and maintain legal electronic file libraries;
  • Schedule and track departmental deadlines;
  • Analyze, parse, and summarize various legal documents; and
  • Conduct basic legal and factual research.


United States (office in Washington, D.C.); hybrid remote work possible.


This position will report to the Deputy General Counsel.

Qualifications or specialized knowledge and experience required:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 1-3 years’ paralegal experience, ideally in industries that focus on climate change, carbon assets, financing, environmental law, natural resources, or energy
  • Strong attention to detail, including superior spelling and grammar skills
  • Ability to communicate proactively, effectively, and cordially, both written and spoken, with individuals from different cultures and communities
  • Ability to work independently as well as organize and prioritize work in a dynamic and complex environment to meet deadlines and daily requirements
  • Ability to apply technical knowledge or guidance, analyze and interpret data from several sources
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365, including document formatting as well as experience with MS SharePoint and Westlaw/ Lexis/ other legal research programs
