Full job description
Summary: For this position must be able to travel from Queens New York to the tri-state area Knowledge of the market, Westchester, and Long Island.

Contribute to the responsibility of the department to provide all tenders, budgets, and procurement of all subcontractor and supplier services and general project conditions.

Essential functions

  • Use the Houzz technology platform to efficiently issue, maintain, and track bids
  • Use technology to optimize performance, analyze costs, and complete takeoffs
  • Identify labor, material, and time requirements by reviewing proposals, specifications, drawings, and related documents
  • Resolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information
  • Analyze drawings and specifications
  • Understand contractual terms and conditions
  • Issue invitations to tender with appropriate documentation, including drawings and specifications
  • Maintain and update the master lists of bidders on the technology platform
  • Gather accurate and well-organized estimates and proposals in a timely manner for projects with Cost-

Plus, Stipulated Price, Design-Construction, and Construction / Project Management

  • Provide clear and detailed quantity takeoffs
  • Prepare requests for information
  • Support the digitization of all procedures across the department
  • Organize subcontractor quotes and reviews to ensure they comply with contract documents
  • Issue comprehensive scope sheets
  • Identify any potential budgeting and schedule risks
  • Prepare budgets based on conceptual, schematic, design, and construction development documentation
  • Maintain relationships with subcontractors and customers
  • Ensure that field staff receive all required information related to the project during the kick-off meeting
  • Provide and maintain unit prices and a database for the calculation of material and labor costs
  • Breakdown of formula costs from estimates
  • Research and recommend cost-saving methods, materials, and procedures

Knowledge, experience, skills, and abilities required

  • Previous experience estimating commercial city and government projects with a total value of up to $1 million in costs
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in the construction field in a similar or related position
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze and distill large volumes of information
  • Detail-oriented troubleshooter
  • Knowledge of estimating software, Houzz preferred,
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Project preferred
  • Preferred Houzz or Procore Knowledge
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills to work within an internal team environment, as well as interact with external suppliers

Minimum education required

  • Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Architecture, Engineering, or Construction

Management is highly preferred

Job Type: Full Time or part-time to start

Payment: $60,000.00 – $64 ,000.00 per year + bonus commission 2% – 3 % from net profits
