Job Path is seeking a full time Program Manager who will oversee four OPWDD certified households in Washington Heights and East Harlem. The Program Manager will provide supervision to a team of Support Specialists and Direct Support Professionals by facilitating open communication within the team, encouraging employee growth and development, and giving and receiving feedback. This leadership is essential in ensuring that the physical and emotional well being of the people we support are always at the forefront of service delivery. Living an enriching and meaningful life where people are involved in their communities is central.
The Program Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with OPWDD regulations. Providing administrative oversight is a key component of the job. The ideal candidate will be motivated, flexible, energetic, responsible, and organized.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following tasks:
Management of Operational Duties:

  • Manages all aspects of the Residential Services operation, including assessment, planning and compliance; sets direction and performance targets for the Department and provides solutions to existing and anticipated problems.
  • Ensures that individuals are supported using a Person Centered Planning Model.
  • Works collaboratively with Medical coordinator and RN to ensure compliance of medical requirements as per OPWDD.
  • Fosters a developmentally sound, quality living environment that is aesthetically pleasing and culturally relevant. Approve person centered appropriate activities which promote individual independence/choice and community inclusiveness, to the furthest extent possible.
  • Provide oversight in terms of budget and responsible purchasing activities. Provide monthly review and oversight of personal allowance, fire systems, community inclusion and recreation.
  • The Program Manager has overall responsibility for day to day coordination of support services, creating schedules and acting as the central point of contact for schedule changes

Leadership and Supervision of Staff:

  • Responsible for ensuring the appropriate recruitment, hiring, and training for all service personnel.
  • Supervises Support Specialists, Lead DSPs, and DSPs, meeting one to one with staff on a monthly basis.
  • Conducts team meetings at least quarterly.
  • Supports management in the evaluation of the Direct Support Professional Core Competencies, ensures that evaluations are done timely and are in accordance with OPWDD Core Competency guidelines
  • Assist direct support professionals in formulating creative learning opportunities for individuals.
  • Ensures all residential staff are in compliance with OPWDD regulatory trainings, including AMAP, SCIP-R, Choking and CPR/First Aid.
  • Provides forum for ongoing staff development and team building.

Administrative duties:

  • Helps evaluate clinical consultant services including behavioral therapy services, occupational and physical therapy, nutrition, and nursing.
  • Weekly review of billing submission, compliance with OMIG guidelines and ensure that all documentation is in order to bill for services.
  • Weekly and biweekly reviews of participant’s personal allowance and petty cash reconciliation.
  • Setting performance expectations for staff and conducting the required evaluations to assess progress both individually and collectively.
  • Work collaboratively with the Care Managers who are responsible for providing information for Life Plans. Assists with obtaining assessments if needed in support of the IRA individuals.

Salary: $56,000 annual salary, non-exempt
Qualifications:
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

  • High school or equivalent is required
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) and at least 3 years of experience of working with individuals with Autism and Developmental Disabilities
  • Demonstrated leadership capacity with two years of supervisory experience.
  • Must be knowledgeable of OPWDD regulations and have excellent auditing skills.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Computer proficiency (Google Workspace, Microsoft Word and Excel)
  • Good listening and comprehension skills, along with strong leadership and decision making skills.
  • Must be able address multiple/simultaneous demands effectively by prioritizing and thinking critically.
  • Ability to delegate effectively ensures accountability, set and meet time frames/deadlines and develop checks and balances to ensure that services are provided in a timely and professional manner.
