Job Description

The Controls Project Coordinator is responsible for supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) Coordination and is located either with our Engineering Teams at our Controls Center of Design Excellence in Round Rock (Austin), TX or at our Controls HQ office in Greenville, SC. The Project Coordinator plans for, then supports key Project milestones throughout the Product Development cycle. Milestones often include prototype completion, regulatory certifications, BOM creation, Engineering change coordination, Pre-Pilot manufacturing evaluations, Pilot level construction events and finally, the handover of New Products to Manufacturing Operations. The Project Coordinator reports to the Director, Project Management for Controls where both work closely to effectively launch new products to Market.

Project Management Support:

  • Work with Project Management Colleagues and Engineering Management Colleagues to effectively achieve development milestones
  • Assist with overall NPI Project Timing Plan development by combining Firmware and Software Agile processes with Mechanical and Electrical Hardware processes
  • Support Project Development work packages required for effective launch
  • Coordinate directly with internal and external Project Managers and Project Coordinators
  • Participate and support Team Stand-Ups and scheduled reviews with working knowledge of our NPI Project Milestone Process

Hardware Engineering Team Support:

  • Support & Coordinate Engineering changes & implementation
  • Assist in the coordination of coordinating Engineering changes at our Operational sites
  • Provide latest schematic releases to Engineering Teams at our Operational sites
  • BOM support includes loading to SAP and auditing for accuracy. Eyes on product BOM’s, question details of BOM’s with Engineering
  • Maintain Materials which include Images for labeling and alternate components/materials when required
  • Manage POs in support of protos as well as goods receipt
  • Accumulate knowledge of Controls Drawings and assist in loading to SAP for release

Manufacturing and Operational Support

  • Serve as point of contact for our Operational and CM site Project and Engineering Leaders
  • Work with Operations to address requested changes for product/process improvement ideas.
  • Coordinate approvals & implementation of projects initiated by Operational sites (e.g. creating MTO finished goods for partial assemblies, requests to modify tooling and BOM support)
  • Field alternate component requests and review with Engineering in situations of supply chain challenges
  • Occasional Customer Service support identifying potential Product alternates


  • Must have project management skills with experience in the areas noted below
  • Engineering degree preferred
  • 3-5 years experience supporting an engineering team
  • strong time management skills
  • comfortable working independently and as a team on multiple projects simultaneously
