Context:

JPM Asset Management (JPMAM) has launched a multi-year strategic transformation of middle office with an aim to have a single, consistent global operating model that enables economy of scale, reduces complexity, enhances service to global and complex clients, reduces time to market on new product capabilities, and improves quality and timeliness of core data sets. To realize this ambition, JPMAM will partner with JPM CIB Securities Services (CIB) to transform AM infrastructure for middle office.

As an experienced professional in Project Execution, you thrive at managing complex initiatives that have far-reaching implications for clients, employees, and stakeholders throughout the firm. This role requires a strong grasp of the big-picture – namely, how can technology help achieve business goals – as well as a keen ability to focus on details of people organization, workforce development communication management and cost controls. Just as importantly, you’ll work with colleagues across JPMAM to set goals, foster collaboration, and promote the values, culture, and brand of JPMorgan Chase & Co.

Primary functions of this role include:

  • Technology program management of Asset Management’s technology teams’ deliverables for this initiative
  • Work with internal (JPMAM) and external (CIB) partners to develop build plans to support multi-year, multi-phase migration initiative
  • Liaise with CIB counterpart on tracking builds and dependencies; escalate when necessary to ensure resources are focused and issues are highlighted
  • Partner with F&BM on project budgets, tracking actuals against forecasts and ensuring the team remains within departmental guidelines for variance


Job Description:

  • The project execution lead acts as a Project Manager: You will bring functional expertise in Asset Management data and lifecycle of trades and securities. In addition, you will leverage your Agile experience to bring laser sharp focus and attention to details towards defining project plans, execution, tracking, course correction, escalations, etc.
  • Reporting and Metrics: Work with tech and product teams to define objectives and key results; establish a framework for status reporting; apply strong data analytical skills in order to produce meaningful metrics for managing delivery
  • Face off to product team in AM Operations: Identify risk areas, drive issue escalation and resolution; ensure status, risk and dependency alignment between product and technology teams
  • Point person for senior stakeholders: Effectively communicate key updates in both verbal and written formats, including risks, technology strategy, technology strategy, management, demos, and tracking of milestones.
  • Leadership and communication: Facilitate working group meetings with members from operations, technology, CDO, and select others from front office and external parties; collate and distribute materials
  • Additional Responsibilities:
    • You may be hands-on in the discovery of investment accounting differences amongst regions and amongst front office, accounting, and custodian/fund administrator views. You will assist in getting sign-off on current and target state processes around reconciliation of these views.
    • Testing, production parallel, and migration: You may be asked to assist in coordination of user acceptance testing, act as technology point of contact for production sign-off, oversee data migration (from legacy to new world), and help to coordinate the effort on prod-parallel, as needed.
    • You should be able to build lightweight prototype models in Excel / Tableau.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or other related area
  • Prior experience in Business Management, Product Management or Project Management / Execution
  • Proven experience delivering timely, high quality presentations and/or reporting for various projects and stakeholders. Attention to detail is a must with continuous focus on design excellence
  • Demonstrated ability in dealing with different stakeholder groups and driving the agenda
  • Excellent communication, organization and project management skills
  • Ability to articulate and demonstrate thoughtful rationale in design decisions
  • Intermediate to advanced level ability expected in all MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Self-motivated, tenacious and able to work with high degree of independence
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills; understanding of what responsibilities should be delegated (and when) vs. what should be retained
