Position Title: Project Manager/ Program Manager


Position Summary

We are looking for a Project Manager to manage IT and Standards and Interoperability projects that support government programs and customers. The position will be essential in customer relationship management, planning and designating resources, monitoring budgets, status, and deliverables, keeping stakeholders and internal management informed, and providing oversight of the projects and internal teams supporting the programs. This role may manage more than one project at the same time.

Duties

  • Manage a tiger team of clinical and technical experts, including both internal and external resources, in standards and interoperability
  • Provide clear and concise status reports on team execution to senior internal leadership and customer stakeholders.
  • Manage issues and risks and escalate them appropriately with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure that all customer contract requirements are met or exceeded on time and within budget
  • Responsible for managing customer relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Project schedule and deliverable management
  • Responsible for administration of the client contract, including working with the customer to collect and document requirements, working with the internal team to estimate the level of effort, and working with internal teams to establish pricing for new projects and contract
  • Prepares detailed status reports and briefings on the status of programs and projects
  • Provide management, direction, administration, quality assurance, and leadership of the contractor staff execution.
  • Provide day-to-day management guidance and direction to personnel in the execution of tasks
  • Use proven project management methodologies that assure that all contract-driven activities are identified, documented, and tracked so that the contract is continuously evaluated and monitored for timely and quality service.
  • Manage team assignments for program resources
  • Perform quality assurance over the Project deliverables

Required Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, health care, and/or equivalent training and/or experience; 7-10 years experience in a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in health informatics.
  • 2-3 years of client/customer management experience managing and owning client expectations and relationships.
  • 5+ years experience managing mid-scale government projects, including but not limited to managing teams, subcontractors, and budget
  • 3 years in Standards or Healthcare Project Management experience
  • 3+ years of Agile experience
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Proven client engagement skills
  • Proven negotiating skills
  • Experience with federal government projects ( VA Preferred, DOD, and HHS Acceptable)
  • 3-5 years experience leading professional or support staff. Demonstrated expertise with health-related systems and corporate systems.
  • Experience working in a deadline-driven environment, handling multiple tasks; excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred experience:

  • Master’s Degree
  • Agile SAFe certification
