Quality Control Manager – Manufacturing

The Quality Control Manager will ensure we are fully compliant to all requirements levied by our customers and the company’s quality management system (QMS). The Quality Control Manager will ensure adherence to industry and the organization’s standards and manage the Quality processes, including calibration, to ensure the company and products meet the threshold of acceptability through assurance, compliance, quality, and customer standards. The Quality Control Manager develops testing plans, creating risk mitigation strategies, and liaising with the product team in suggesting process improvements. QMS is based on ISO 9001 standard requirements. The Quality Assurance element will be for 2 sites.

Reports to: General Manager and President


· Lead a turnaround in quality control to ensure full compliance to all requirements, internal and external.

· Leads a team of both quality technicians and engineers

· Manage the company’s ISO 9001 Quality Management System and Quality Control

· Review customer contracts and specifications, resolve issues associated with incoming, in-process or completed products internally and with customers

· Creates/Fosters an environment of accountability to quality standards, work instructions and customer expectations.

· Interface with Manufacturing, Engineering and Sales to ensure on-time delivery.

· Create and analyze department metrics and implement appropriate actions

· Initiate MRB meetings for customer compliance and non-conformance issues and develops, recommends and monitors appropriate corrective and preventative action

· Manage the calibration process, equipment and authorize changes to calibration frequency as applicable.

· Assure that all Quality personnel are trained in all processes, procedures, and other documentation that pertain to their specific job function.

· Completing environmental reports against statutory and regulatory requirements and submit to regulatory agencies and notifies the President / General Manager regarding any issues that need to be addressed.

· Responsibility for the “Firm’s Quality-Management-System” according to ISO 9001-2015

· Evaluation of this and report about it to the subordinated roles

· Ensuring compliance with the standard ISO 9001-2015, the customer / evidential requirements and internal company standards

· Carrying out regular internal (planned and unplanned)

· System audits, internal product and process audits as required

· Preparation of management reviews

· Initiation of corrective and preventive measures for avoidance of mistakes and the further development of the “Firm’s Quality-Management-System”

· Release of QM documentation

· Supplier development (evaluation, assessment, audits)

· Other related duties as assigned

Qualifications and skills:

· Candidate must have a degree in engineering or science (required)

· 3 – 5+ years Quality experience in a supervisory or management capacity (required)

· ISO-9001/AS9100 experience in an electronics background (required)

· Experience working with electrical and mechanical test equipment (required)

· Knowledge for process approach, risk management, continuous improvement and ISO 9001 quality management system (preferred)

· Special Processes, soldering and mechanical inspection oversight (preferred)

· Internal Auditor Certification (preferred)

· Knowledge in GD&T (preferred)

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service focus

· Attention to detail and strong analytical skills

· Positive leadership skills

· Highly organized

· Ability to make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour
