Research Director
Research Director Requirements:

  • Doctoral degree or equivalent qualifications in Oncology, Molecular Oncology and Tumor Immunology or Cancer Biology;
  • Minimum of seven years of research and evaluation experience, and a minimum three years of leadership experience in nonprofit, government or academia setting;
  • Experience with research in molecular & cellular oncology, cancer discovery, or radiation and cancer biology;
  • Experience with research and evaluation software packages including statistical analysis packages (e.g., SPSS, SAS, Stata, R), qualitative evaluation software (e.g., Atlas.ti), survey software (e.g., Survey Monkey), data visualization software(s) such as (e.g., Tableau, ArcGIS);
  • Demonstrated understanding of research models, methodology, and processes;
  • Eperience in building/managing a high-performing team for translational and/or applied research;
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of program planning and organizational structure;
  • Ability to analyze and compile complex data for decision making, policy changes, and identifying potential opportunities for growth and innovation;
  • Ability to compose reports, presentations, and written communication in an organized, logical, and concise manner;
  • Experience with MS Office applications and project management and financial/budgeting software;

Responsibilities:

Aiding the Executive Director in:

  • Overseeing the development, implementation, and growth of all research activities to advance GDI’s mission;
  • Implementing a strategic vision and a related action plan for the development and funding of research and evaluation efforts, and for the upgrading and acquisition of research-related processes and infrastructure;
  • Proactively pursuing regional, state, and national research development opportunities that are consistent with GDI’s mission, strategic plan, and goals;
  • Identifying potential financial and operational problems related to research development, undertaking a detailed analysis of alternative courses of action and their implications, addressing difficulties and problems in their execution, and constructing appropriate action plans and alternative approaches;
  • Overseeing the operations and personnel for all research and evaluation activities, maintaining a high level of fiscal accountability with respect to budget constraints;
  • Negotiating appropriate roles and responsibilities for staff and partners supported by contracts;
  • Ensuring that the intellectual property of GDI is appropriately protected and cultivated

Pay: $110,000.00 – $130,000.00 per year
