The Simulation Manager is responsible for developing, delivering, and sustaining quality simulation across the college. The two primary responsibilities of the position are: (i) the development and implementation of a simulation curriculum that is consistent with course objectives and promotes student learning, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making, and (ii) simulation instruction, training, and development for faculty and lab coordinators. The Simulation Manager also is responsible for ensuring the quality and appropriateness of simulation equipment and supplies.

Job Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a simulation curriculum that is consistent with course objectives and is focused on critical thinking, clinical decision-making, and NCLEX success standards.
  • Coordinate the scheduling of simulation learning experiences across all campuses
  • Oversee the collection of evaluation data on learning outcomes for simulation activities and collaborate with faculty to disseminate findings of their students’ outcomes and discuss changes to further promote learning
  • Create and manage faculty onboarding and development programs (in-services, webinars, workshops, etc.) that teach and mentor faculty on simulation
  • Design, develop and implement an onboarding program for students introducing them to simulation, policies, and procedures for the labs and simulations, etc.
  • Establish, administer, and maintain policies and procedures that dictate the overall operations of the simulation facilities
  • Administer inventory controls, conduct purchasing (including requesting quotes from vendors and suppliers), and facilitate maintaining necessary stocks of consumables for labs
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Minimum/Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors of Nursing Degree required, Master’s Degree in Nursing preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in nursing education including simulation
  • Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE)
  • Certified Nurse Educator (CNE)
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
