The Trade Analyst, Commercial Strategy will be responsible for tracking our trade spend budget to make sure we are below AOP. This person will also help run promo events ROI analysis, making recommendations to increase trade productivity. He/she will be a key liaison between Customer Operations & the Sales Team to make sure pricing discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner. This position will also prepare ad-hoc reporting for the Commercial Strategy team, as well as Finance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • The Trade Analyst is responsible for our Trade Spend promo approval process, reviewing and approving promotions. Track trade spend vs. guidelines to ensure compliance
  • Manage the revenue management system and become a matter expert in BluePlanner, being the main touch point for any question related with reporting and promotion modules
  • Maintain our Product Master Data, setting up new items, adding standard primes and list prices
  • Responsible to updated standard primes, cash discounts and others when required
  • Execute any national and customer specific list price updates
  • Collaborate with Customer Operations to make sure any pricing discrepancy between the customer PO and our system’s pricing are resolved in a timely manner
  • Track gross to net conversion to make sure the trade spend is below budget and lead monthly Net Sales & Trade meetings with each Sales Manager. Identify customers where % trade spend is above budget and follow up on action plans to make sure our trade spend is below budget.
  • Run promo events ROI analysis using IRI/POS consumption data. Provide actionable insights on trade performance, trends, and opportunities to the Commercial Strategy team to ensure our trade investment is effective
  • Share monthly sales & trade variations report, doing an YTD, month and YTG overviews and identifying main variation drivers
  • Spin data management and be responsible to upload key distributors spin data into BluePlanner system, tracking McLane in/outs to make sure shipments and spin data are reconciled.
  • prepare ad-hoc reporting for Commercial Strategy, Finance, Marketing and other departments
  • Develop integrated analytics, reports, and presentations using a variety of data sources (SAP, BluePlanner, IRI, Numerator, customer POS and others)
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • At least 2-3 years in sales/commercial finance analytics required. CPG Foods experience is preferred
  • Financial and analytics acumen with an understanding of the importance of ROI
  • Strong excel & power point skills
  • Syndicated data experience (IRI or Nielsen) preferred
  • BluePlanner platform experience preferred
