Responsibilities:

This individual will work directly for the VP of Trade Marketing for GA/AL/TN. In addition, this position will work closely with GM’s/Sales Teams in AL, GA and TN to drive case sales, profit numbers and maintain margin thresholds. The Trade Marketing Director of Wine will also work with all suppliers we represent to develop programs and identify opportunities to achieve overall goals and objectives.

All the Trade Marketing Managers for Wine will also report directly into this role. The Trade Marketing Director of Wine is responsible for their performance and overall development to ensure our company achieves desired results.

Wine Commodity Lead:
  • The Trade Marketing Director is ultimately responsible for the following functions regarding their Trade Marketing Team and overall commodity:
    • Supplier Network (First POC in Building)
    • Pricing Strategies
    • Pricing Book
    • Margin Analysis for commodity
    • Overall Tool Box For Sales Team
Make The Plan: Deliver AOP depletion points, depletion cases and manage AOP shipment plan
  • Build the plan in consultation with our Supplier Partners
  • Planning process to commercialize delivery of plan
    • Ensure key focus areas are identified and prioritized down to sales in and effective manner
    • Distill plan down to every state, channel, manager, and sales rep
  • Deliver the Plan
    • Effectively utilize and manage the budget
    • Consider suggested pricing and margin management strategies
    • Manage quarterly shipment process
  • Mobilize, influence, motivate
    • Influence across the distributor organization at the most senior levels to ensure our company gets support and tools to deliver superior sales execution.
    • Mobilize and motivate managers, sales people and retailers to deliver plan
Drive Execution: National Execution Plan Goals/Superior Trade Development/Retail Relationships
  • Planning process to commercialize delivery of the National Execution Plan
    • Give every rep clear monthly NEP goal with tracking mechanic
    • Build, implement and manage a clear mid and end of month review process
    • Communicate and implement Diageo executional standards
    • Drive superior Trade Development activation
    • Manage and Execute event and sponsorships
    • Localize and ensure utilization of selling tools across organization
    • Effectively manage and execute Diageo POS
    • Implement, manage, and evaluate incentives
Business Performance Management: Performance Visibility/Process and Tools/Accountability
  • Lead the development of a performance-based culture
    • Systematically and consistently manage performance each day
    • Identify issues early and develops action plans before program is up
    • Conduct effective meetings and have direct and courageous conversations to address performance head on and early – Business and People performance
  • Drive timely transparency of business performance information
    • Ensure the Anaplan tool is fully managed and used down to managers and reps
    • Ensure timely visibility and integrity of performance data
  • Implement tools and processes to drive consistent and timely identification and action of issues
    • Process: BPM’s, PAM’s, QBR’s, Scorecard Reviews
    • Tools: Scorecards, Reporting, Analytics, Anaplan, third party survey data, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Minimum 10 years sales experience within alcoholic beverage industry.
  • Previous supplier experience within alcoholic beverage industry preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years supervisory experience.
  • College Degree Preferred
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of basic computer applications (Word, Excel, & Outlook).
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, time management & organizational skills.
  • Must possess and be able to maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
  • Must be able to drive vehicle to customer locations & travel throughout state.
  • Must be able to lift up to 45lbs occasionally and/or frequently depending on the task (i.e., store resets & monthly inventory).
  • Must be able to push, pull & carry cases of product (i.e., store resets, displays, inventory, etc.).
  • Must be able to prioritize & work in a rapidly changing, fast growth environment.
  • Must be licensable under the guidelines determined by the state alcohol regulations.
  • Background checks (i.e., Police backgrounds, reference checks)
  • Motor vehicle record will be pulled to establish employment eligibility: no DUI, reckless driving, or hit & run in the past five years & no more than two moving violations in the past three years.
